The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville’s (CEHNC) Operational Technology Division - General (FTI-Gen) Program provides quality oversight and technical engineering solutions for facility related communications distribution systems.

Our Team: The FTI-Gen Program utilizes a dedicated, multi-discipline Project Delivery Team (PDT) to provide support for the survey, design, acquisition, installation, testing and/or maintenance of facility communications distribution systems. Furthermore, the PDT includes subject matter experts in the areas of Project Management, Information Assurance/Cyber Security, Engineering, Contracting, Resource Management and Legal Counsel. Along with a cadre of CEHNC employees, the program also partners with other U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Divisions and Districts to ensure proper integration of mobile and non-mobile communications distribution systems into facility design, installation and/or maintenance.

Program Scope: In accordance with the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) standards and Telecommunications Distribution methods, the scope of work performed by the team includes telecommunications interior infrastructure planning and design; facility-related cybersecurity systems; telecommunications spaces, pathways, cabling and systems; mass notification systems; uninterrupted power supply systems; interconnecting components necessary to support the infrastructure of voice, data and video systems; data center preventive and corrective maintenance; modernization of telephone from analog to Voice over Internet Protocol; and help desk/administrative support services.

In today’s environment, facility communications distribution
systems integration is a non-severable aspect to a complete and usable facility.
