When Jose Santoscruz left his home in Puerto Rico at only 20 years old, he didn’t know he would find family spread out all over the United States, Europe and even the Middle East.
But that’s exactly what happened, he said, when he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1978 and formed lifelong bonds with the men and women serving alongside him.
