Huntsville Center awards $2.35 billion multiple award task order contract supporting Defense Health Agency

The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville awarded Operation and Maintenance, Engineering Enhancement (OMEE), Generation VII, Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) On July 3 to the following awardees:

As a Technical Center of Expertise, the OMEE VII MATOC will perform services in support of Defense Health Agency (DHA) medical facilities and campuses throughout the United States and its territories as well as numerous DHA facilities in foreign locations worldwide.

Individual Task Orders issued under the OMEE VII MATOC provide preventive maintenance and repair of medical facility systems and equipment, aseptic management, grounds maintenance, pest management, medical equipment maintenance, non-complex repairs, and other activities associated with operation, maintenance, and repair within active inpatient care medical facilities, ambulatory care facilities, business occupancy medical clinics, dental treatment facilities, medical research labs (all biosafety levels), veterinary clinics, and medical supporting facilities such as medical storage and warehousing, central utility plants, etc.

Medical facility systems include all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and site systems, equipment and components. Typical work includes maintenance, repair and/or replacement of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment, generators, electrical and lighting systems, medical gas and vacuum systems, duct cleaning, asbestos abatement/removal/disposal, and similar efforts. Government medical facility maintenance and repairs must conform to the requirements of the Joint Commission Environment of Care Standards and other applicable regulations.

OMEE VII was solicited and awarded as an unrestricted MATOC with a small business reserve suite. The period of performance is one, 36-month base ordering period and two, 24-month optional ordering periods, for a total of 84 months (seven years) if all options are exercised. The total ordering capacity amount of $2.35 billion will be shared among six Other than Small Businesses and six Small Businesses.
