Center’s OMEE contract keeps Walter Reed running

Huntsville Center engineers reach out to local students at cyber, engineering academy

The Huntsville-located charter school is ranked academically in the top 1% of U.S. high schools and is the nation’s only high school focused on the integration of cyber technology and engineering into all academic disciplines.
Access control program enhances installation security through modernization
Contractors oversee the operation of an Active Vehicle Barrier system at Fort Sill, Oklahoma early last year. The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville Access Control Program, working closely with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Protective Design Center (PDC) at Omaha District, is modernizing ACP systems to to ensure they continue meeting federal and Department of Defense standards for safety and security.

The event allows business representatives to learn about current programs and upcoming contracting opportunities from various U.S. Government Agencies including Huntsville Center. Members of the Center’s program project delivery teams were on hand to answer questions and provide more specific information to interested business representatives. Huntsville Center provides specialized technical expertise, global engineering solutions, and cutting-edge innovations through centrally managed programs in support of national interests around the world.
Despite hurdles, Center’s end of fiscal year push sets records
The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville closed out the fiscal year in record time, ensuring America’s warfighters and other federal agencies get the support they need to continue their missions.

The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center Huntsville’s Ordnance and Explosives Directorate is the execution arm for the environmental work executed at the Center.  The Directorate is organized into four divisions: Military Munitions Design Center, Chemical/Biological Weapons Material Design Center, Global Operations and Ballistic Missile Defense. 

Capabilities: Ordnance removal (conventional, chemical, radioactive); Ordnance investigations and environmental studies; Environmental remediation; Training and capacity building; Independent operation capability to include security, logistics, and life support; Ability to reach out to other U.S. Army Corps of Engineers capabilities and assets; Service contract capabilities and in-place contracts for world-wide use; USACE Ballistic Missile Defense Mandatory Center of Expertise (ER 1110-2-8163)

Objectives: Support National Security; Rapid Response expeditionary mindset supporting Department of Defense and US Government Agency operations worldwide with qualified and responsive munitions and environmental support; Independent operation capability includes security, logistics, and life support; Provide DOD, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and USACE with acquisitions, architect-engineering services to include sustained subject matter experts fully supporting and executing the dynamic missile defense mission; Provide facility guidance in support of MDA Facilities associated with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) cases
