Mission: The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville's Site Development Branch, EDC-D, provides engineering services related to site selection and site development design and design review associated with site layout, earthwork and grading, transportation, hydraulics and hydrology, erosion control and storm water, line-of-sight analysis and site construction. EDC-D participates in the preparation of SOW, PWS and specifications for A-E and construction contracts. The program directs technical changes in work performed by A-Es within the scope as required.
EDC-D reviews and recommends approval of plans and specifications prepared by A-Es. EDC-D also performs in-house designs, develops Enterprise Geographic Information System Database Management Products and produces Remote Sensing and Survey Products.
EDC-D serves as the primary coordinators of all GIS products within Huntsville Center.
Functions: The key functions of the Site Development Branch include technical product production and review, technical management and project management, as well as acquisition management support.
Personnel: The Site Development Branch houses a team of experienced Civil Engineers, Physical Scientists, and Geographers. The team brings expertise in project management, technical management, and leadership, with many holding certifications such as Professional Engineering and GIS Professional Certifications
