Fort Bliss Aquatics Training Center
The $15.5 million, 50,000-square-foot Fort Bliss Aquatics Training Center, open in May 2013, features three pools: a 50-meter Olympic-sized pool, a multipurpose pool and a 13-foot-deep diving well. Each body of water boasts its own innovative characteristics. The center is the first of its kind in the Army. Huntsville Center's Center of Standardization team provided standard design criteria, oversight, review and assistance for the project. Using standardized criteria rather than plans helps ensure the installation gets exactly the facility it needs.
