COmmander visits Anniston Army Depot
Chuck Wood, assistant project manager with URS, shows Col. Robert Ruch, commander, U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, how employees in the control room monitor the detonation process through the use of computer screens during a site visit to the Static Detonation Chamber at Anniston Army Depot May 13. Ruch visited the Depot to see the SDC in operation. The SDC is being used to process conventional munitions and ordnance to gain more information in support of non-stockpile efforts. The technology will be installed at the Blue Grass chemical-agent destruction pilot plant in Richmond, Ky.
