A smart phone is used during a Huntsville Center industry briefing to ensure geographically removed small business representative can attend the event. Huntsville Center’s Office of Small Business Programs was recognized April 27 by the Army as the top Small Disadvantaged 8(a) Business Program for 2021. One of the high points of the program's selection was building on virtual capabilities by conducting virtual industry briefs.
The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville’s Chemical Warfare Materiel Design Center located within the Ordnance and explosives Directorate is the sole provider of environmental response activities that involve Chemical Warfare Materiel for the Army and Department of Defense.
The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville’s Global Operations Division within the Ordnance and Explosives Directorate provides global support for unexploded ordnance and minefield clearance, munitions disposal, environmental services, and facilities maintenance and repair services. Small teams of program and technical specialists are deployed to establish an in-country presence and to provide project oversight and are supported by a full cadre of engineers and contracting personnel.
The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville's Ordnance and Explosives Directorate supports Missile Defense programs to include developing facilities requirements and criteria, preparation of facility designs and cost estimates and supporting engineering and design during construction.
During the past two centuries some activities supporting military readiness have caused environmental contamination within the U.S. on both former and current installations, and its territories. The Department of Defense, the Army, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are committed to protecting human health and the environment and improving soldier and public safety by cleaning up these properties.
Huntsville Center Environmental Engineering expertise supports active Army missions by Army Central Command in overseas locations to facilitate environmental stewardship for Army and DOD components at military areas of responsibility.  Huntsville Center has provided contract support for development of environmental master plans for ongoing military actions as well as post-use evaluation and clean-up criteria for impacted areas.

Projects like the Arsenal’s The 10 MW solar array with a 1-MW storage system undergo reviews by the Center’s Energy Resilience and Conservation Investment Program validation team before they are submitted to compete for Department of Defense funding.
After two decades of witnessing the outstanding support provided by the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, the National Guard Bureau has chosen the Center for its Electronic Security Systems needs.
