HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- HUNTSVILLE, Ala--The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville recently awarded a $49million, five-year general Architectural & Engineering indefinite delivery contract to provide a full spectrum of A&E services in support of various programs within the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
An IDC is an acquisition vehicle awarded to one or more vendors to facilitate the delivery of supply and service orders. More than 15 vendors are under this contract activity.
The contract is divided into four categories: General A&E to include military facility design and commissioning; facility cybersecurity; various specialties to include Facility High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse studies/designs; and general military facility cost engineering/estimating including explosive and blast engineering.
This is the first A&E contract the Center developed specifically supporting the Center’s A&E activity, said Hank Thomsen, Huntsville Center A&E Contracts and Criteria Branch chief.
“This contract gives us more flexibility,” Thomsen said. “With this contract we can support our program’s diverse needs with the appropriate A/E firm, making us more aligned and focused on our customer’s requirements.”
