U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Huntsville Center awards task order supporting Navy, other military branches

The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville awarded a firm fixed price task order on Feb. 26 to CACI-ISS, LLC to deliver technical services to the Naval Systems Support Group, a component of Naval Sea Systems Command.

These services will provide subject matter expertise in support of naval shipyard maintenance processes and IT systems; facilitating continuous process and performance improvement; delivering software implementation and training; performing operations research/decision support analytics/ metrics development and strategic planning. 

The total award amount is $39.7 million and the period of performance is one 12-month base period with four 12-month option periods. The scope and scale of this contract will allow NSSG to deliver the needed information and resources to modernize and refine facility and ship maintenance for the Department of Defense.

These services will assist NSSG in fulfilling its mission in facility maintenance and management for naval ship maintenance and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers watercraft management.  Further they support NSSG’s management of the facilities equipment maintenance system, which affects the Navy, Air Force, Army, Army Reserve 88th Readiness Division, Navy Nuclear Laboratories, USACE, and several other federal activities.

The services for this acquisition are anticipated to primarily be performed at Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, Virginia.  Some Elements of the services may also be performed at the contractors’ work site and at other various government facilities to include, but not limited to Washington, DC; Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, New Hampshire; Naval Station Kitsap, Bremerton, Washington State; Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; Naval Base Guam Barracks 20 NEX, Guam; Rota, Spain; Naples, Italy; Bahrain; and Yokosuka, Japan.

The NSSG serves as the trusted agent for aligning waterfront operations business processes, and systems requirements, and driving business process improvement by integrating sound and appropriate policies, processes and systems.

NSSG supports the Fleet with disciplined and consistent implementation of processes and systems, infused with innovation and supported by meaningful metrics, measures and analysis in order to instill high confidence that all shipyard requirements will be adequately resourced to deliver each project as promised. NSSG acts as the liaison between NAVSEA and the shipyards to interpret and implement user requirements to drive improved shipyard “health”.  NSSG directly complements NAVSEA 04’s mission to “Make the Fleet’s Ships Ready”.
