Munitions services contract awarded ahead of schedule

The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville awarded a shared capacity of $49 million Quality Assurance Seeding Multiple Award Task Order Contract to eight awardees Oct. 19. The performance period is five years and the MATOC was awarded three months ahead of the anticipated schedule.

The QA Seeding MATOC allows continued mission support for services to address munitions response concerns assigned to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The MATOC provides third party blind validation seeding and Advanced Geophysical Classification data collection and processing.

The awardees are: Arcadis U.S., Inc., Highlands Ranch, Colo. (Other Than Small Business); CH2M Hill, Inc., Englewood, Colo. (OTSB); HydroGeoLogic, Inc., Reston, Va. (Small Business); Janus Global Operations, LLC, Lenoir City, Tenn. (OTSB); Tetra Tech EC, Inc., Huntsville, Ala. (OTSB); TLI Acorn JV, LLC, Chantilly, Va. (SB); TPMC-WRT, LLC, Exton, Pa. (SB) and Weston Solutions, Inc., West Chester, Pa. (OTSB).

The Department of Defense and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers developed the munitions response classification process to improve the efficiency of cleaning up munitions and to focus resources on potential explosives safety risks at munition response sites.

To increase focus on quality, USACE will require contractor support services to perform the full scope of Quality Control (QC) and QA fieldwork and data audits. This MATOC will be used to continue the execution of mission assignments at sites located throughout the Continental United States, U.S. territories, U.S. territorial waters and outlying areas as defined by Federal Acquisition Regulation.
