$41 million contract to provide medical information technology services at Fort Belvoir

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, on May 19 awarded a $41.7 million contract to Versa Tech, Inc., an 8(a) firm headquartered in Columbia, Maryland, for the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital (FBCH) Information Management/Information Technology (IM/IT) Technical Services.

This contract will provide IT program management, technical IT support and clinical informatics expertise in direct support of this emerging business and clinical transformation of the FBCH in Northern Virginia. This contract provides IM/IT support services to a community of approximately 5,500 users to satisfy the overall IT operational mission objectives for the FBCH.

The Fort Belvoir Community Hospital is a 120-bed hospital and the central facility of a comprehensive health care network, which encompasses two Family Health Centers (FHC) in the communities of Dumfries and Fairfax and includes a Specialty Care Ward, Medical/Surgical Unit, Labor and Delivery Suites, a Mother/Baby Unit, Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program, and a 24-hour Emergency Room. The FBCH serves approximately 95,000 eligible military beneficiaries in Northern Virginia. FBCH’s top priority is to care for the Wounded Warriors, Active Duty and Veterans. FBCH maintains around-the-clock casualty care to restore the health and well-being of those they treat. They also ensure the readiness of our country’s active duty and provide excellent care for their beneficiaries.

Huntsville Center’s Information Technology Services, Medical Information Technology Program supports the entire Department of Defense medical community in the procurement of hardware, software and technical services.

MED-IT provides the services and the level of support needed for each requirement from our available capabilities that include:
