New Contracting Directorate chief takes over at Huntsville Center

Colleen O’Keefe has been selected as the Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville’s chief of contracting. In this capacity, she will oversee acquisition services and solutions in support of the Huntsville Center’s missions which consist of executing and managing programs and projects that require functions not normally accomplished by Corps of Engineers divisions or districts.

Prior to joining Huntsville Center, O’Keefe served as the first regional contracting chief of the Transatlantic Division where she provided advice on complex contracting issues and gave oversight on contingency contracting operations.

O'Keefe’s 22 years’ experience in contracting include more than 10 years working in supervisory positions and working with a variety of contract actions to include contingency contracting in Iraq and Afghanistan. Her experience at the district, division and the principal assistant responsible for contracting level also provides her the right background to take on the broad challenges of the many programs at Huntsville Center and to lead the Contracting Directorate.

O’Keefe received her associate degree in digital technology, bachelor’s in creative writing and television production, and a master’s in business administration. She is Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act certified at Level III for Contracting and Acquisitions, certified at Level I in Program Management and Life Cycle Logistics, and is a member of the Army Acquisition Corps and the National Contract Management Association.
