    Huntsville Center first in USACE to receive Safety and Occupational Health Star Recertification

    The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville has become the first organization within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to successfully complete the Army Safety and Occupational Health, SOH, STAR recertification evaluation, with the recommendation now moving forward for final approval by the Department of the Army.

    After sitting dormant for more than a decade, the fuel storage and distribution system at an Air National Guard base at Fort Smith Arkansas, has been restored to full operational status by repairs completed by the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville. The restoration ensured the installation would have the ability to become a key training site under the U.S. Foreign Military Sales program.

    Fuels Program Executes Rapid $1.5 million POL Pipeline Repair

    The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville completed repairs of emergency fuel infrastructure at U.S. Naval Support Facility, NSF, Diego Garcia. The $1.5 million Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants, POL, Pier Pipeline was repaired and operational 17 days ahead of schedule, reinforcing the installation’s ability to sustain uninterrupted operations in the Indo-Pacific region.

William South will celebrate a milestone of his own: taking command of the 926th Engineer Battalion in Birmingham, Alabama. South’s civilian position is as a contracting officer at the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville. He said he looks forward to the full-circle moment as he first enlisted in the 926th Battalion’s Alpha Company in 1997.

    Huntsville Center aims to increase energy efficiency at Fort Eisenhower

    The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville has spearheaded a major infrastructure upgrade at Fort Eisenhower, Georgia as part of a $72 million Utility Energy Services Contract, UESC, project. The initiative is aimed at increasing energy efficiency and includes the replacement of outdated generators with modern, high-capacity natural gas units.
