    Huntsville Center’s Electronic Security System team helping Fort McCoy upgrade security measures

    For the past three years, Fort McCoy’s Directorate of Emergency Services has been working with the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville’s Electronic Security Systems Program to upgrade its police station, access control points, ammunition supply point, the airfield and other facilities on the installation. Huntsville Center’s ESS is the mandatory center of expertise for procurement and installation of Electronic Security Systems.

Solar energy, like the 55,263 square foot solar wall installed on the Defense Logistics Agency’s Eastern Distribution Center in New Cumberland, Pa., was the second of four technologies awarded under the $7 billion Renewable and Alternative Energy Power Production for DOD Installations MATOC.

    Army awards second technology under $7 billion renewable energy MATOC

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, working with the Army Energy Initiatives Task Force (EITF), awarded Multiple Award Task Order Contracts (MATOC) to a group of 22 qualified solar technology contractors. The contractors that are qualified through this process will be able to compete for future projects within their approved technology area for any renewable energy task order issued under the MATOC by the Army or Department of Defense (DoD).
