    Huntsville Center’s MOT is providing complete turn-key project support for the equipping and transitioning of staff and patients into the Brian Allgood Army Community Hospital and Ambulatory Care Center at Camp Humphrey, Republic of Korea. The new 772,000 square foot facility is set to open in November, 2019.

    Sally Parsons, chief of the Information Technology Systems Division at U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, won the “Redstone Women Who Rock!” award in the leadership category from the North Alabama Chapter of Federally Employed Women.

    Huntsville Center awarded a $90 million Single Award Task Order Contract to a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business to deliver the Vocera Wireless Hands-Free Internal Communication System for Defense Health Agency use. The device improves communication by instantly connecting physicians, nurses, and support staff via text and voice while also connecting them to medical records and live patient clinical information.

    Center awards unusually large contract to small Texas business

    A $90 million Single Award Task Order Contract was awarded to Government Marketing and Procurement, LLC, a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business. GMP is a Government Services Administration schedule contractor providing information technology procurement services.

    Meagan Brantley, Center Contracting, Kay Sommerkamp, Office of Counsel, Betina Johnson, Ordnance and Explosives Directorate, Lilian Fox, Center Contracting and Valerie Klinkenbeard, Engineering Directorate, spoke in depth about their experiences during the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville’s Equal Employment Opportunity office-sponsored Women’s History Month 2018 event March 29. The theme, “Nevertheless She Persisted,” brought attention to each panelists’ persistence to succeed professionally and also shed light upon how the Center has changed over the years.

    During the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville’s Equal Employment Opportunity office-sponsored Women’s History Month 2018 event March 29, five female panelists of different ages and backgrounds sat before an audience and spoke in depth about gender-based obstacles and the persistence required to succeed in the workforce.

  • Employees of the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, practice chest compressions on medical dummies during a first aid and CPR training and certification session March 1 at the Center. Along with their primary duties, the employees serve as first aid attendants for Huntsville Center and must certify annually.

    Command Strategic Review strengthens communication, sets path forward

    The Command Strategic Review working session is a collaborative event between HQ USACE, Campaign Plan (UCP) Objective/Action Champions and the major subordinate command (MSC) counterparts to ensure alignment with the UCP and review progress of specific current year priority actions. Huntsville Center’s last CSR was in 2015.

    Aaron Renfro, a Huntsville Center employee who serves as the construction lead at the Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant in Richmond, Kentucky, recently earned his Certified Construction Manager designation.

    Arthur Martin III is the new director of the U.S. Army Engineering Support Center, Huntsville’s Installation Support and Programs Management Directorate.

    Martin named new ISPM director

    Martin began his U.S. Army Corps of Engineers career in the Mobile District’s Construction Division in 1986. In addition to Mobile District, Martin worked in Savannah District before joining Huntsville Center in August 1999 working in the Mechanical-Electrical Division of the Center’s Engineering Directorate.
