    Huntsville Center ended fiscal 2018 more than $3 billion in contract actions. The Center accounted for more than 10 percent of all contract actions across the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and its obligations represent more than 13 percent of the Corps’ total obligations.

    Support to installations increased in fiscal 2018

    In fiscal 2018, the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville executed more than $3 billion in contract actions, a 50 percent increase from what the Center accomplished in the previous fiscal year.

    Huntsville Center awarded a $90 million Single Award Task Order Contract to a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business to deliver the Vocera Wireless Hands-Free Internal Communication System for Defense Health Agency use. The device improves communication by instantly connecting physicians, nurses, and support staff via text and voice while also connecting them to medical records and live patient clinical information.

    Center awards unusually large contract to small Texas business

    A $90 million Single Award Task Order Contract was awarded to Government Marketing and Procurement, LLC, a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business. GMP is a Government Services Administration schedule contractor providing information technology procurement services.

    Command Strategic Review strengthens communication, sets path forward

    The Command Strategic Review working session is a collaborative event between HQ USACE, Campaign Plan (UCP) Objective/Action Champions and the major subordinate command (MSC) counterparts to ensure alignment with the UCP and review progress of specific current year priority actions.     Munitions site removal project makes progress

    The mission to investigate and remove World War II-era chemical warfare materiel suspected to be buried in 17 sites at Redstone Arsenal has reached a new milestone as Huntsville Center’s Chemical Warfare Design Center prepares to lead fieldwork at the post’s 10th such site.

    Huntsville Center architect helps fellow employee’s family in PR

    Like many members of the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, who have been deploying to help residents of hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico, Neriah Holly volunteered to help people he didn’t know. But less than a day before his departure in early November, an unexpected request from a fellow employee made his mission a lot more personal.

  • Workers repair powerlines in Puerto Rico. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in coordination with the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, on Dec. 1 awarded a time and materials contract with an $831 million ceiling to Fluor Corporation, Irving, Texas, to support ongoing work to restore the power grid in Puerto Rico. USACE is partnering with the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to restore safe and reliable power to the people of Puerto Rico.

    This second contract will provide additional resources and personnel needed to support the work to restore the power grid in Puerto Rico.
